Grok (Ani & Mika) vs Muah.ai (2026): Polish vs No Filter

Update, September 24, 2026: xAI retired Grok’s 3D avatar Companions (Ani, Valentine, Mika, Rudi), with September 1, 2026 as the in-app removal date. The avatars, the companion tab, the companion voice mode and the affection system are gone; the characters reportedly remain only as text personalities in regular Grok chat. Quick Verdict

This one splits cleanly. If you’re here for genuinely uncensored content, Muah.ai (review) wins: it goes everywhere Grok (review) won’t. Grok gates NSFW behind a slow affection grind and stops at suggestive. For the people searching out a no-filter companion, that makes Muah the answer, and it’s why it takes the overall nod here. But Grok wins decisively on model quality, voice, and security, and Muah is carrying a serious data-breach history you need to know about.

Chat Quality

Grok’s underlying model is the better one. It’s smarter, holds long contexts more coherently, and the writing is sharper. Ani, Mika, and Rudi have real personality, and single-session conversation is excellent. The weak spot is companion continuity: Grok’s long-term memory of you is thin.

Muah’s chat is creative and, crucially, unfiltered. It’ll engage with scenarios and dynamics Grok softly refuses. The model itself is less capable than Grok’s, and memory drifts. You’ll get “who are you again?” energy from a character you’ve talked to for weeks. But for users who want zero guardrails, the freedom outweighs the polish.
