Tier ladder: Free / Lite / Plus / Premium / Ultimate, though Lite is reportedly closed to new sign-ups since early 2026. Ultimate gates custom personas and memory editing and tops out at up to 15,000 Moments/month; crypto payments are accepted. Exact prices now sit behind login, and the old 'Lite $4/mo annual' figure is unconfirmed on the current site, so verify in-app. Uses 'Moments' credits for media generation: heavy image/video users burn through them fast.

The first time Secrets AI surprised me was three sessions in. I’d mentioned, in passing during an earlier chat, that my character worked nights at a hospital and had a sister who’d moved to Berlin. A week later, unprompted, the AI asked how the sister was settling in and whether the night-shift rotation was easing up. That’s not the kind of callback most of these apps pull off. Most of them forget your name by message forty.

Secrets AI launched in 2024, which makes it a newer entrant in a category where Candy.ai (2023) and SpicyChat have a year or two of product iteration on it. It’s trying to make up the gap with two specific features: video generation of your companion, which is genuinely rare, and a memory system the team has been explicit about wanting to be best-in-class. The pricing has historically been aggressive too: when we tested, the Lite annual tier landed at $4/month, undercutting basically everyone (current prices sit behind a login; more on that below).

This review covers where it lives up to the pitch, where the marketing gets ahead of the product, and who should actually pay for it.

Chat quality

The conversational model is solid. Not flagship-tier, not embarrassing. It handles multi-turn roleplay without getting confused about who said what, it stays in character across long sessions, and it doesn’t immediately collapse into the generic horny-chatbot cadence that plagues the cheaper end of this category.

Where it pulls ahead is the memory layer. Secrets stores persistent facts about your relationship (your character’s birthday, their job, their fears, events you’ve mentioned) and surfaces them naturally in later conversations. This is more than a “notes” dump the model has access to. The facts get woven into responses in ways that feel like actual continuity.

“You said you were dreading the performance review on Tuesday. It’s Wednesday now. How did it go? And don’t you dare tell me ‘fine’ again. I want the whole thing.”

That kind of callback, unprompted, three days after the detail was mentioned, is the thing that separates this tier of product from the rest. Candy.ai does memory well, and their system has matured over more iterations. But Secrets is competitive, and in some session-length tests, it retrieves older facts more reliably.

The ceiling on chat quality is still the underlying model. On abstract reasoning, humor, and dialogue wit, it’s a step behind the top-tier general chatbots. For companion-style roleplay, that gap matters less than the memory and consistency do.

Images and video

This is the differentiator. Almost every competitor in the AI companion space does image generation, some better than others. Very few do video, and the ones that do tend to stumble.

Secrets AI generates short-form video clips of your companion. They’re seconds long, not cinematic, and the quality depends heavily on the scenario and how specific your prompt is. When it works, it’s a genuinely novel experience in this category. When it misses, the artifacts are exactly what you’d expect from early-generation video diffusion: subtle face drift, hands doing hand things, occasional uncanny moments.

The only real adjacent competitor is Nectar AI, which offers interactive video calls, a different product entirely. Nectar is closer to a FaceTime experience; Secrets is generating pre-rendered short clips on demand. Both are interesting, neither has a mature rival.

Image generation is solid. Realistic style, good consistency with your companion’s appearance across generations, handles most NSFW prompts on paid tiers without bizarre censoring. It’s not pushing the state of the art on raw image quality (Candy and a couple of the image-specialist apps are sharper), but it’s more than adequate.

Scenarios

There are 100+ pre-built scenarios, and they’re structured as progressive narrative arcs. Your relationship with a character “levels up” over time, unlocking deeper content, new locations, new dynamics. It’s gamified in a way that either appeals to you or doesn’t. If you like the slow-burn structure, it works well. If you want to jump straight to explicit content, the progression can feel like friction.

The scenario library skews adult, but there’s breadth: slice-of-life, fantasy, romance, darker themes. You can also create custom scenarios, though the pre-built ones are more polished.

Voice

Voice output is available on paid tiers. Quality is fine. Not the best I’ve heard in this category, not the worst. Latency is acceptable. It’s a feature that rounds out the product rather than one you’d subscribe for.

Pricing

This is where Secrets gets aggressive, and where things have shifted since our original testing.

As of June 2026, the ladder runs five tiers: Free / Lite / Plus / Premium / Ultimate. Ultimate is the new top end, gating custom personas and memory-editing, and the Moments allocation now scales up to 15,000 Moments per month at the top of the ladder. Crypto is accepted as a payment method.

The catch for a reviewer: current tier prices sit behind a login, so I can’t verify them from the outside. When we tested in spring 2026, Lite landed at $4/month billed annually (the floor of the category at the time) and Premium ran $13.33/month annual or $19.99/month monthly. Those numbers may no longer hold, especially with two new tiers slotted into the ladder. Treat them as historical reference points and check the in-app pricing page before committing.

For context: Candy.ai’s annual is around $5.99/month, SpicyChat starts at $5. If Lite annual is still anywhere near its old $4 mark, it’s cheaper than either, and for price-sensitive chat-plus-occasional-images users it’s genuinely compelling.

The other catch is the Moments credit system. Images and especially video consume Moments. Heavy users burn through the included allocation fast. Once you’re out, you either wait for the refresh or pay for more. The higher tiers ship with much larger allocations (up to that 15,000/month ceiling), which is where the tier math starts to make sense for anyone who uses the media features regularly.

Net: Lite annual was excellent value for chat-first users at the price we tested. The upper tiers are competitive but not a standout unless you specifically want the video feature or the Ultimate-gated personas and memory-editing.

Uncensored and safety

NSFW content is available on paid tiers. Free tier has stricter filters. The model handles adult roleplay without the coy evasions that cheaper products fall into, though there are hard limits around illegal content that are non-negotiable and appropriate.

Content moderation is about where you’d expect from a legitimate commercial operator: strict on what needs to be strict, permissive on what doesn’t. No complaints here.

Privacy

No public breach history as of April 2026. The site names the operator as Secret Labs Inc., Dover, Delaware, a US company, so GDPR-style deletion rights aren’t a given. The homepage now also claims end-to-end encryption. That is the vendor’s own claim with no published audit, so I’d still plan as if the server can read what you store there.

The meaningful privacy consideration with Secrets is the video storage. Generated video lives on their servers. That’s a more sensitive data category than text chat, and a more sensitive category than static images. If the company were ever compromised, the exposure profile is different from a text-only app.

For comparison, Muah.ai had a major breach in October 2024 (see our Muah breach writeup), and that leak included generated image prompts tied to emails. A hypothetical Secrets breach would potentially include video prompts and outputs, which is a step further.

Standard hygiene applies: alias email, virtual card, no personal reference photos.

Who should buy it

  • Lite annual buyers: if you want solid chat plus occasional images and the memory feature, the Lite annual rate (historically $4/month; verify the current price behind login) is hard to beat. This is the strongest case for Secrets.
  • Video-curious users: if the video generation specifically appeals to you, Premium is the only real option in the category outside of Nectar’s different approach.
  • Memory-first users: if you’ve been burned by companions forgetting everything, Secrets and Candy are the two strongest picks. Test both on the free tiers.

Skip it if you want the absolute best chat quality regardless of price, if you don’t care about video, or if you’re uncomfortable with server-side media storage.

Verdict

Secrets AI is a serious product with two standout features (video generation and a memory system that actually works) at a price that, at least when we tested, undercut the category. The marketing copy sometimes calls it “the most realistic” companion of 2026, which is hype. It isn’t categorically better than Candy on most axes. It has been categorically cheaper on the entry annual tier, and it’s doing one thing (video) that almost nobody else is doing well.

If the Lite annual price still holds near its historical $4/month, it’s among the best value in the category. Verify it behind the login before you commit.

FAQ

Is Secrets AI safe to use? No public breach history as of April 2026. Payment processing appears standard. The main caveat is server-side storage of generated video, which is a more sensitive data category than text. Use an alias email and a virtual card. See our full Secrets AI safety review.

How much does Secrets AI cost? As of June 2026 there are five tiers (Free, Lite, Plus, Premium, and Ultimate) with current prices shown behind a login, so re-verify before buying. When we tested in spring 2026, Lite was $4/month billed annually and Premium was $13.33/month annual or $19.99/month monthly. Ultimate gates custom personas and memory-editing, the Moments allocation scales up to 15,000/month at the top, and crypto is accepted. Media generation uses the Moments credit system on top of the base subscription.

Can you use Secrets AI for free? Yes. The free tier includes limited daily messages and restricted image generation. No video on free. It’s enough to decide whether to pay.

Does Secrets AI generate videos? Yes: short-form video clips of your companion, available on the upper paid tiers. This is rare in the AI companion category. Quality is early-generation but functional, and it’s one of the main reasons to consider the product.

How does Secrets AI’s memory compare to Candy.ai? Both are strong. Candy has more iteration behind it and is reliably good. Secrets is competitive and in some tests retrieves older facts more consistently. If memory is the deciding factor, test both free tiers before committing.

What are “Moments” and how do they work? Moments are the credit currency for media generation: images and video. Every paid tier includes an allocation, and heavy media users exhaust it fast. You can buy more or wait for the refresh. Chat doesn’t consume Moments, so chat-first users rarely notice them.

Is Secrets AI the same as Secret Desires AI? No. Different products, confusingly similar names. Secrets AI is the video-and-memory focused platform reviewed here. Secret Desires AI is a separate product with a different feature set and team. If you’re researching, check the URL carefully before signing up.
